Oshani Seneviratne is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Renssealer Polytechnic Institute, where she leads the BRAINS Lab. BRAINS is an acronym for Blockchain-based, Resilient, Accountable, Intelligent Networked Systems. Her primary research interests include Web, Web Science, Blockchain, Knowledge Graphs, Data Management, Federated Learning, Decentralized Learning, and Data Privacy Management. Additionally she conducts research in health informatics and decentralized finance. Oshani holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where her advisor was Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the world wide web. Before her current appointment, she served as the Director of Health Data Research at Rensselaer, and as a senior software engineer at Oracle Inc.
